The Baha’i Fast – Day 2

Love is the truth and the best of all things. It transcends place, time and grief, and lifts us up and beyond ourselves. It finds us when we did not know we were lost, fixes us when we did not know we were broken, whispers to us when we did not know we were deaf. It is the only journey worth taking.

“…and by Thy Name through which Thou changest all things, and gatherest together all things, and callest to account all things, and rewardest all things, and preservest all things, and sustainest all things…”
-Baha’u’llah

John, Your picture captures the true love between a mother and her daughter. Mom looks quietly at peace while the sadness and heart-break is evident in the shoulders of her daughter. This picture is very compelling and thought provoking.
I pray you find solace for the grief of your loss in the passage from Abdu’l-Bahá ………..

O sincere servant of the True One! I hear thou art grieved and distressed at the happenings of the world and the vicissitudes of fortune. Wherefore this fear and sorrow? The true lovers of [Baha’u’llah], and they that have quaffed the Cup of the Covenant fear no calamity, nor feel depressed in the hour of trial. They regard the fire of adversity as their garden of delight, and the depth of the sea the expanse of heaven. – Abdu’l-Baha, Selections from the Writings of Abdu’l-Baha
