Grandeur: North Carolina

Sundial

This view spans the length of a particularly special piece of architecture: the sundial at Morehead Planetarium in NC.  Polaris, the goal of the sundial’s gesture, twinkles out-of-focus in the background. The ‘North Star’, situated above Earth’s celestial pole, acts as a navigational guide, though it is 430 light years/ 2.8 billion km away! (Talk about the grandeur of space!)

“For in this universe of God, which appears in the most complete perfection, beauty and grandeur the luminous stars of the material universe are innumerable! Then we must reflect how limitless and infinite are the spiritual worlds, which are the essential foundation.” ~ Abdu’l Baha
