“In accordance with the Divine Teachings, the acquisition of sciences and the perfection of arts is considered as acts of worship. If a man engages with all his power in the acquisition of a science or in the perfection of an art, it is as if he has been worshipping God in the churches and temples…What bounty greater than this that science should be considered as an act of worship and art as service to the Kingdom of God.”

– ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, Bahá’í World Faith

Bobby’s love for the visual medium was fostered at an early age in Iran after watching his first episode of “The Six Million Dollar Man” on television. Enamored with his TV set, Bobby explored his love for the arts by trying his hand in every medium: from music production to stand up comedy, until he found contentment through the lens of a camera. He and his wife Fiona work together at Fiona + Bobby Photography.

Bobby, it’s brilliant. On so many levels. I am particularly struck by his expression of calm contemplation (his striving for perfection) in the midst of seeming chaos. It’s a beautiful analogy for our work in this world, for striving for perfection of one’s art “with all his power.”
