Honour: Taipei, Taiwan

This photo was shot over Taipei’s outdoor International Flora Expo. The flowers were beautiful, but didn’t come as close to stopping my heart as this China Airlines flight was to land at nearby SongShan Airport. Have you ever stood under a flying jet? They are enormous. Though I can rattle off the physics of it, I still am astonished at the huge mass lifted by close to nothing.

“All praise, O my God, be to Thee Who art the Source of all glory and majesty, of greatness and honor,of sovereignty and dominion, of loftiness and grace, of awe and power. Whomsoever Thou willest Thou causest to draw nigh unto the Most Great Ocean, and on whomsoever Thou desirest Thou conferrest the honorof recognizing Thy Most Ancient Name.”

~Prayers and Meditations by Baha’u’llah

Alisa lives in Taiwan with her husband Joe. She considers herself extremely lucky to teach children of diverse backgrounds in a European bilingual school in Taipei. When she’s not running after a tiny tot, she’s snapping away on her Canon Rebel and thinking about the needs of an ever advancing society!
